Another interesting experiment, this time taking three pictures to create a panorama. The widest lens I have is 150mm, which is considered "normal" for a 4x5 camera. The only way to capture the entire landscape in this situation, is to create a panorama & stitch the photos together. I attempted to stitch three 100 Megapixel photos together only to find out my 2.6 GHZ computer w/ 1 Gig of RAM is far too wimpy to handle it. I ended up scanning at a reduced resolution (1800 DPI) and stitching 2 photos together. The result is roughly 96 Megapixel, and looks fantastic at 18" x 24".

This was a fun photo to take, there was a large herd of elk to the left of center when I was setting up the tripod. A cow elk came running from behind me, and scared the entire herd off to the far left. By the time I got the camera set up, they were long gone. It was a very windy day, making it hard to get a sharp photo. This didn't turn out as sharp as I anticipated, although it looks fine printed at 18" x 24".

This was taken with a 4x5 field camera using 100 ISO transparency film. The 4" x 5" transparency was then scanned at 2400 DPI resulting in this 100 Mega-Pixel image.
